Our Journey Continues

I have been a “Treasure Hunter” for the past 40+ years, It started out with stories of local outlaws and lost mines, told by my Father and Grandfather to a very young and impresionable boy.

As I got older I realized that I needed to learn more if I was going to be sucsessful so I started digging into History and Geology. I read every book I could get my hands on and when I had read all I could from local libraries I moved on to the local University. They had just received a donated collection of mining and treasure hunting books and I went through them like wild fire. While at the University Library I became aquainted with the library director and he helped me with my researching and showed me how to navigate the library system and the resarch process. He instilled a love of books, History and libraries that continues today.

As soon as I could drive I started going out by myself looking for these treasures and exploring the great outdoors. I have been stranded in the back country,spent weeks camping on my own, broke down in the desert, sunburned, frozen, wet, hot cold, hungry, thirsty and downright miserable. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Over the years I have picked up a few mining claims and had a sucsessful Metal Detector sales business.

I searched out other people to lean from and served as president of the Utah Treasure Hunters Association.(a local metal detecting club) I continue to seek out people that are interested in teaching and I am always finding new stories to chase, and new places to explore. Most of my best friends are people I have met while treasure hunting and they are some great people.
